I posted this as a spoof on the foolish 'job wanted' ads I see that are planted by scam recruiters, but so help me I'm getting reams of serious offers from all over China, Japan ..... One package had 7 offers for me - take your pick.

You saying you're getting good job offers with that resume?
I supposed they're impressed with your POFL degree.
Good job.

If the photo showed a looker with more caucasoid features, I bet that the responses would treble. Many chuckles. |

"That's bloody brilliant" as Ron Weasly would say. How about we flood the boards with shoddy resumes just like the pathetic agencies do with job adds? |

Thank you everyone for your kind comments. The ad made me laugh too, but the replies are making me cry. So far, about 40 job offers. Here's another typical one.
Dear Sally Forrester,
I think it would be my great honor to invite you to Teach in ***** University of Technology. Would you please email me your photocopy of passport, diploma, and a resume. If you need any information,
please do not hesitate to let me know.
yours sincerely .....
Can anybody tell me what is happening here? What do these people think about? Do they even read the ads? CAN they read? Are they just innocent and naive? Are they crazy? Are they desperate? Does the FAO really think I can teach his cat to speak English?
I'm now thinking maybe I can just submit a small photo and a copy of my McDonald's discount coupon, and end up teaching at a university.

I believe this little experiment adds further support to the argument that China is truly suffering from an severe shortage of foreign teachers (...or faces) at the moment. |
