I'm looking for a good business EFL book or series with a main focus on reading. Any suggestions out there?

What is the skill level of your students?

The reading part throws me a bit, but English-to-go online used to have some pretty good reading-based lessons - and the BBC also.

I like the Market Leader series from Pearson - Longman;

the contents are up-to-date and it's available for all levels.

Thanks...I like the Market Leader series. I am looking for pure reading w/ exercises though, intermediate and on up. I'll check out the English to Go site Ted, thanks.

Business Matters by Mark Powell starts every unit with a reading then the rest of the unit focuses on vocab, esp. word partnerships from the reading. It's published by LTP.

I've also used Business Matters and think it's very good. A new edition came out a year or two ago, and I believe LTP was purchased by Thomson/Heinle, so you may want to check out their website. I recall checking it out and there were additional activities there too.

Have you tried the Market Leader supplementary book "International Management" ? It consists of 20 or so texts of business articles with exercises.

The reason I asked the level is that I really like the Business Venture 1 and 2 series. It's kind of high beginner/elementary, but I have taught a LOT of students with those books (1 is better than 2) and you can make some great progress with them.

As can be expected, they will be great at business conversation but not so great at other things - but it depends a lot on what they need it for.

They met the needs of my students quite well.

i asked Jeff Mohamed this same question when i was taking his Course 1 of 3 of his online certificate course; this was his reply:

"for Business English students, a good supplementary book is:
"Business Eng. & Conversation for the EFL-ESL Classroom" by Aceituno (Universal; ISBN 158112712X)

Two good teachers books are:
"Teaching Business English" by Ellis (OUP; ISBN 0194371670)
"Teach Business English" by Dona & Ur (CUP; ISBN 0521585570).
These should tell you everything you need to know, and a lot more!

You can get all these books from Amazon.com".

the 2 good teachers books he recommends were available used [in good condition] and new on Amazon.com about a week ago when i ordered

not being a teacher yet, no personal experience to report; hope this helps
