Try this one - just saw an ad posted by the British Council for teaching jobs in North Korea - see below.
Based in either the Pyongyang University of Foreign Studies or the Kim Hyong Jik University in the North Korean capital, Pyongyang, and part of a team of three English Language Teacher Developers, you will be responsible for teacher development courses focusing on methodology, language improvement and textbook development, plus teaching undergraduates. |

What is the pay like? I'm sure they will have no problem filling those positions. I wouldn't be against it. |

Their ad states:
24,877 a year plus benefits (including rent-free accommodation, air fares and health care provision)
If anyone is successful in getting this job, please write and let us know what it's like as this would probably be a first for an ELT job in North Korea. |

My biggest question would be What would you do in your free time? I mean what kind of adventure could be had in North Korea?
Is there history to see? Site seeing? Cable TV? Can you adverture about like you can in most places?
Are the NK a friendly people? There has to be other factors besides the pay.
But, as an American, I'd commit for 1/2 a year if the pay was good. I need the money. |
