It looked nice a nice little town when I passed through and I was wondering if there are any college teaching opportunities there. Also, how is the social life?

Hi
I just did a quick websearch and there is a Shimonoseki University but they have no English or Liberal Arts department, and there is a Fisheries department.

Other universities you might wantt to try are Yamaguchi University in Yamaguchi prefecture or Kita Kyushu University in Kokura-shi, Kyushu
