A friend of mine has just returned from Japan with almost two years of experience and some decent in company training. I think she should be able to get a job in Europe without a TEFL certificate, but she needs some further reassurance - and I must say I'm not 100% sure.
Has anyone managed to find work on experience alone? She's a UK citizen especially interested in Italy, France and possibly Spain. |

In my experience, European schools generally don't consider candidates unless they have had some EFL/ESL-specific training, regardless of experience. |

If your friend doesn't mind long hours and low wages, she could always try Berlitz. The previous poster was right, however: most companies require applicants to hold a recognised qualification like CELTA. |
