saint, I really like your new blog. What do you think "thrifty" would write about if he had a blog?

The most important tool a blogger has is his/her digital camera. Thrifty will never be able to afford one so we don't have to worry about him blogging.

If he were ever able to scrape together the money here is what I picture:

Okay, I'm gonna spell it out:

I saw a lot of miserable shit in my life and my family and I went through tons of it. I saw little kids with no arms or legs in China. begging on the streets. I heard stories of my great-uncle dying in a forced labor camp. I taught kids in Harlem who came from broken homes in the projects. The list just goes on. When I was a kid, we often stole food from supermarkets for dinner and our furniture came from dumpsters around shopping malls.

A lot of us, maybe all of us are in a better position than a good 90 percent of the people in the world. Yet here is a guy with more education and opportunity than most, and he spends his life complaining about it. So EFL is a miserable field? Find another. So Turkey sucks? Leave. So your wife and kid don't want to leave? Make the best of it and be a man. And live.

Fine words, guangho. I salute you.

Unfortunately, our "thrifty" will find a way to turn those words to his own benefit. He always does. Wink

I have no realistic figure as i have not lived in the UK for 12 years or so.

The last time i lived in the UK I sponged off my parents and before then I was a student and still sponged off my parents.

I have never bought a house or supported a family or paid my own bills except as part of a house share and even then I got a grant (the old UK uni student system) and I got a student loan which i have never paid back.
