I recently had skin cancer removed and now have a series of scars on my forehead. In the center of my forehead is a quarter sized growth of new skin. The doctor cut along the two wrinkles, which are now deeper and quite obvioius. Will this affect my chances of getting hired as I understand personal appearance goes a long way in Japan? |

I don't know whether every employer would refuse you on such a basis but any company who wouldn't employ you because you have scars is not a company I would want to work for. |

Its amazing what you can do with make-up to hide blemishes these days.
As long as students aren't physically repulsed you should be OK. (we have a new teacher at our school whose whole left side of his face has a reddish-purple birthmark, so there is hope for you yet. People get used to it after they have seen it a couple of times. |

Thank you. Appreciate the replies.
I was worried there for a while. Guess I'll see how it goes. In Vietnam, it has been a source of disussion in the class; whether I've been shot or had an accident. Hopefully, I can use it in Japan as well. |
