Has anyone used this operation to find a job? They certainly appear to have some great options, but I can't find much about them. Are they a bit of a scam? Good reputation? What does anyone know about them? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

On their web site they have the following positions listed in Merida:

5 Elementary Positions
2 University Positions
Kindergarten Positions

They aren't listed as EFL positions. Kindergarten and elementary EFL positions are extremely rare in this city, so I would guess they are regular teaching positions rather than EFL. I think it would be pretty difficult to get a work visa for those jobs unless they're EFL. The site doesn't mention whether they're public or private schools. The jobs have been on the web site "forever." If they haven't been filled by now, they must be pretty bad.

I think if you google teachmexconnect that it should pull up a Welsh Data and Research website that says that they're a scam. It seems to me that if these schools need teachers, then we shouldn't have to pay. But hey...if you would like to conduct a scientific experiment....

Yeah right! You probably just get a list of schools and it's up to you after that. NO THANKS!!

actually, my understanding is that you don't get a list, they send your resume to schools on your behalf...
Like BRDB noted the jobs posted on the site seem to be there for a long time, I was eyeing a job in Chile--which has been posted on their site since December.

They send your resume to schools for you. I get a few from them every now and then. Most seem to be pretty well qualified. I haven't hired anyone from teachermexconnect yet, but I probably will eventually. (When someone who matches our needs and has the right dates of availability comes up.)

Honestly, a lot of "agencies" are scams. But $25 to get your resume sent to a lot of schools doesn't strike me as unfair. You may not get anything from it, and as I understand it, they don't offer a guarantee, but for $25, it doesn't sound like a bad deal. It may help you find a good position, and it's not really a lot to gamble.

I've never used them, or any other agency, to look for work. But I might, if I found myself wanting to look for a job quickly and didn't have too much time to spare.
