Can anyone recommend a good airline/travel agency to go with?
Also, what kind of pricing should I be expecting?
Thanks,

There will be other opinions of course, but I usually start my searches on Expedia.com and then check the respective airlines' websites. Check the local Asian newspapers in your area for travel agents; They can score some great deals! If you have flexible dates then try Netscape.com travel...sometimes there are great prices there.

I came over on EVA. They have the evergreen class which is a standard business class cabin, but without the frills associated with business class (ie: economy class service with a bit of leg room).
Air Canada sucks ass, and anyone stupid enough to give them money deserves the abuse they will surely receive. |

I've been told numerous times to go through an agent. I looked on aircanada (which i agree is the worst prices) the quotes were around $1800 US. When my bpyfriend got a quote from Philadelphia it was only $950 for the same travel days. (Its maddening cause its the same distance!)
My dad flies to Asia about four times a year and he got his flights through an agent he found in Chinatown who specializes in flights to asia. He pays around $1300 round trip from Ottawa to Shanghai.
I am a firm believer that no matter how hard you look and reaseach, you will always find that someone paid less than you. |

If you are in Vancouver try;
Jane Zhou, Marvelous Travel Ltd, 705-1055 West Broadway, Vancouver.
Tel No. 604 739 8565
I've used them twice this year, to Shanghai and Bangkok. Good pricing.
Internet websites and direct from airline sales are almost always more expensive than a travel agency. |
