Topper!
I work 9 periods @ 1hr 40 minutes each. Half days Tue-Fri, no weekends or office hours.
I love it! (I work at a college).
Cheers!
Edited 'cause I have no idea what I meant by "mintutes."

i usually arrange for the same. unfortunately, my schedule was amended in the 2nd term. instead of 3.5 day weekends, i'm down to a regular weekend. i wont let those negative changes happen again. two days isnt enough time to enjoy one's life out of work. |

I like my three day work week.
I teach 12 periods per week and then have Thursday evening until Tuesday at noon down time or away time.
I have bargained for this at my next school also.
I like it! (I teach uni) |
Native English speakers on the JET scheme in Japanese public schools get US $36,000 p.a. plus return flights, health, pension and unemployment insurance and one month's salary bonus at end of contract (more if they contract for another year). Some also get free or subsidised accomodation . Many 'teach' for less than 8 hrs per week. |

Since malsol lives in the hinterlands of China I think the commuting time required to enjoy those 8 hours of work in Japan would become a bit of an irritation factor.
By the way SNS, what you do with those sheep after you find 'em |
