When you guys are talking about money, you're talking about pesos, right? Or are you saying you can't find a place to rent for less than 600 U.S. dollars? I'm sorry if this question seems quite dense, but it seems like sometimes people use the $ sign for pesos and sometimes they use it for dollars. |

I'm pretty sure that most of the posters here who live and work (ie earn and spend) are talking about pesos. Maybe newcomers might talk in dollars. I prefer to talk in pesos because it is after all the currency of this country and the US dollar bears no relevance to me here, esp as I'm not from the US. I think if people are talking US$, that is the sign you use. I guess you don't live in Argentina? You'll soon come to recognise the price range of things and it won't seem so confusing to you! |

I agree and disagree with Sheena. The peso is the currency here but the U.S. dollar is very realtive and important as well. When anything appears as "$300,00" that is pesos and when it apears "300,00 USD" thats dollars. When you look for cars, apartments and houses they advertise in Dollars. Example: Fiat Palio 9.900 USD. I know when you purchase a house or apartment they ONLY accept U.S. dollars (I can only speak of Rosario because this is where I live).
I hope this clears things up. |
