I know a couple of people who have taught there. There is no money at all, but it can be done. I think it would be really really hard to have something prearranged, but I think if your heart is calling you to Guatemala, and you have enough money saved up to get yourself there and back you can go for six months or a year and probably have an amazing time. Just don't expect to come out finacially ahead in the end. If you go its because you want to be personally enriched.
Cheers! |

I lived in Guatemala for two years and made tons of cash. I started teaching Private classes and then that got too big so I started a school and was making about $2500 a month. This was in about 1983.
It can be done. |

No offence, but that was 23 years ago. I imagine things have changed a heck of a lot since then! |

The numbers may change but the concept stays the same. It's doable by anyone who wants to put in the time. I met one guy who decided to become a Refrigeration Technician. Didn't know squat about it. bought a book and took all the jobs he could get and asked the @Old Pros@ when he had to. He was making $2000 a month. Do it and hustle and you can make it with your own gig. |

Today, I'm working in Jubail, Saudi Arabia on a contract that teaches employees of a large Petrochemical company. I'm making about the same I did when I was in Guatemala.
However, since then I have been to
Panama, Ecuador, Chile, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Slovakia, Ukraine, Russia, Kazakhstan, India and now I'm back in Saudi to make a few bucks to go someplace in South America and start a school.
