You have weird ways of spelling Chinese place names: Nanchang in Jiangxi. |

Perhaps, but Nan [south], Chang [long], Jiang [river] and Xi [west] are separate characters. Pinyin makes more sense when broken into its components. And the "spelling" isn't changed by doing so either. Capitalization is punctuation. |

Nanchang is an OK city.
I have given a review of it elsewhere: basically it's a sleepy little place, not much to do, but relatively (RELATIVELY) clean and wide-open. Not a lot of tall buildings and not much of a nightlife, I'm afraid. Few foreigners, from what I could tell.
The food: bland. Better in nearby (to JX) Changsha.
The people: short and not very fashionable.
The shopping: yikes.
I think you could do better, but if the school's good, it wouldn't be a bad place to spend a year. |
