I had my interview on 22/3, then was told that I passed the interview on 7/4 and they were going to "assess my qualifications".

I finally heard back last week (1/6) that my qualifications are OK and I have now been referred to schools for selection - that's 12 weeks since the interview! I did call the EMB about 4 or 5 times just so they wouldn't forget me, which may have sped up the process...

Now I just have to wait for a school to pick me - which will probably take another 12 weeks Surprised)

Patience really *is* a virtue when dealing with the EMB.

hey ... my interview was way back in March and by May 18th I found out I'd passed everything Smile but I had no idea that the wait goes on a lot longer! I too am waiting on schools to get in touch. Is it usually by email? Or phone call? I am curently in England so I can't imagine they would telephone me to discuss contracts! (correct me if I'm wrong)
This waiting is making me very restless anyway Sad

I applied for SNET and had my interview/test in the middle of Feb. I was informed I had passed that a week later but I had lots more paperwork which they wanted to see that I had not included with my initial application. By the beginning of April I had faxed everything through. On April 19th I was emailed by the EMB that my qualifications were verified and all the paperwork required had been checked. They wrote that I was now on the list for matching with schools. I have heard nothing since but the email highlighted I could be waiting 2 months for contact from a school. 6 weeks later nada! Getting a mite anxious about the whole thing. Shocked

Hey All,

I recently had an interview and have received notfication that while my interview was successful, my written response is still under review.

Can anyone shine some light on what they think this means? I am confident that my response was not of a high standard - has anyone had a similar initial response from the EMB and successfully been recommended?

Cheers in advance,

Lost Soul

Very Happy Finally I have had some action. Two schools in the New Territories have contacted me by email and one also rang. Anyone have any information (first hand - I have been busy googling) on Tin Shui Wai and/or Tsuen Wan? Question

Well done Dodgee, my friend was a NET for 2 years in the New Territories, I shall try to find out if she knows anything about the places you mention.

Tin Shui Wai is WAAAAYYY out there.

Tsuen Wan, not so bad.

I have lived in the NTs for 3 years. Nice place.

In 2003, I waited from FEB to almost JULY before I heard that I was successful. EMB and schools are SLLOOOOOWWWWWW......

Patience...and call Phoebe Mok often. Smile

Are there any other perks with that salary, Wabbit? Housing allowance for example? From what I am beginning to understand about rent etc on HK Island your 16,000 wont go very far I'm afraid. As many of us are in the position of waiting for school contact, it would be hard to comment on the salary scale, as it goes off your qualifications and experience. You could look here for more info :
