Having some food cravings lately. Even though I really prefer Turkish food to anything I ate while growing up.. shhhhhh!! Don't tell my mom!
I miss this kind of bacon:
and Salt and Vinegar Chips! (Chips, NOT crisps.)
and Ginger Snaps
and Smarties!!!
That's all....today. |

About four or five years ago, the salt and vinegar crisps were actually being sold here. Unfortunately they seem to have disappeared again. |

It makes a nice change to eat food that doesn't turn your internals into something that resembles chewed toffee .Give me porridge every time . |

Are you saying you don't care for Turkish food? I get cravings sometimes, cravings directly tied to the level of my homesickness, but I have to say that TURKISH FOOD ROCKS. mmmmmmmmm sarma....
Mother-is-law and I are making sarma(yaprak dolması) today. mmmmmm stuffed grape leaves.....mmmm |

To be fair, Turkish cuisine is probably a lot healthier than Scottish cuisine. (or English for that matter) |

Scotch mince pies, Bovril, Heinz baked beans, black pudding, white pudding, a deep fried pizza supper and a deep fried mars bar washed down with a bottle of Irn Bru, rolls, Monster Munch, haggis supper, Tunnocks tea cakes and caramel logs. Tetley tea bags. And Merrydown cider. |

Hmmm, that's the second time you've made that typo. Maybe there is something to the Freudian slip dmb mentioned earlier .
My hubby makes a mean sarma. Better than I ever could. Even better than my own mother's version - though she hates to be reminded of that... |
