| Ditto for me. I find Istanbul mentally exhausting and the pollution is doing terrible things to my lungs and eyes. If I could live in Bozcaada or back in Cappadocia again, I could say yes. But as for Istanbul, no, definitely no. |

Right now, I miss my family so much I can hardly stand it.
This is my dad. Isn't he cute? He just got a webpage and I look at it like 5 times a day.
I haven't seen them in almost a year, so at the moment I can't imagine really staying here the rest of my life. At the same time I couldn't ask my husband to leave his family-- it's possible for mine to come here, but it's not so easy for his to go to America regularly, and I'm not even sure they'd really want to. In a perfect world, I'd want to spend 6 months here and 6 months there, but we'd have to win the lottery and be free of job constraints for that to happen. My husband and parents play regularly for this reason. Fingers crossed. |

| My parents are also keeping me updated in their lottery playing. As soon as they win, they will let me know so I can quit my job immediately and we can all fly somewhere nice and beachy and warm, where there is good wine and lots of hammocks. |

I thought he was standing beside a chimpanzee when I first scanned this page. Methinks I need another coffee! |

He sure looks like a fine fella. Who's the old man standing next to him? |

| Oh... that's such a difficult question... I ask it myself almost everyday... I've been here for 4 years, got married, lived with my in-laws, got divorced now... and I'm still here... I've got a nice job... I don't know... I don't think I'm staying forever, but I just can't go away, either... oh, God... to be or not to be?? |

| I'm in the same position, without the marriage, divorce or in-laws (so I guess it isnt actually the same then...). After four years, I've realised that I have to decide if I plan to stay a very long time or leave or... dunno. I have great friends here, a great flat, a decent job that I usually like ( not every day but generally), and basically a well-established life. If I don't leave soon, it will be harder and harder to leave later. However, I am not sure I am ready to go. I miss my family, I kinda miss where I come from, and I'm not so keen to be the lifelong prodigal daughter (I've spent my 20s and now early 30s Away). I am not tied here by marriage so I need to keep reminding myself why I am here and not elsewhere... |

That's Pippin. She's about 3, but she's looked like an old man pretty much since she was born. Here she is at 3 months or so. Veeeerrry seeerriiious...
I don't think she ever did a foolish puppy thing in her life, except maybe roll down the stairs a few times. But that was because she tripped on her ears.
She's become the object of empty nest syndrome, so she's a main topic of my parents' conversation without them realizing it. She loves my dad best. My mom gets a little jealous. |

My dog's free and single. (he does have a bit of drink problem though, being a TEFL dog) |

Are you a TEFL dog? If you score more than 6 yes answers then you are a TEFL dog.
1 Have you ever stolen from a colleague because you believe that you are worse off financially then them?
2 Are you excited at the thought of low cost flights to Turkey?
3 Have you ever left a bar early in order to leave the large bill with one of your students?
4 Do you steal toilet paper or stationery from work?
5 Have you ever abused your position in class to groom students in order to sleep with them?
6 Do you let your students buy you food and drink?
7 Do you use your Englishness or Canadianess to skank freebies?
8 Have you ever slept with a Turk just to get things cheaper or for free?
9 Have you ever or do you pocket the taxi money and get the bus or dolmuş when you do company work?
10 Have you ever slept with a student because it was easier than having a relationship with a real person and cheaper?
My score is 10 |
