Hi,
Sorry if these questions have been answered before, but my connection's very slow, I've been through five pages of listings, and don't see what I'm after. Can anyone help?
I've got an interview soon for a job in Ningbo so...
1. What's Ningbo like?
2. In the interview I've got to say how I think Chinese uni students should be taught Academic English. Any thoughts? Are they into communicative stuff, process writing, etc or is it still a tad traditional?
Thanks for any help on this. |

Ningbo is a large, relatively prosperous port city in Zheijiang Province. It is one of the cities that drives the economic motor of the entire province. It just hums with growth and what is there today is gone tomorrow and replaced by something newer or more modern or whatever.
The weather can be really, really steamy in the summer and it has been known to be visited by the occasional typhoon, sometimes rather frequently. The Ningbo-ren are quite friendly but the local dialect is quite removed from "putong-hwa". Ningbo cooking follows Hangzhou and Shanghai-style cooking and tends to border on the sweet as opposed to the spicey.
There are some little islands off the coast of Ningbo that are quite worth visiting.
As for the questions on the Interview, sorry, I can't be much help there. |
