I demand empirical proof that you are qualified for such an endeavor. I do not believe it. |

I don't know anything about it, but I've just had an application from a teacher who spent 6 months, and loved it. It sounds interesting...

So why did he leave?
Another one of those TEFLers who claim that they had such a wonderful time doing job x but cannot give a valid reason why they left.
"Oh I worked in Yemen in a small village living in the community and I cannot wait to go back. The people were so friendly" Ugh so why did you leave? Duh |

Family problems, homesick, wanted a change of scenery, more money: there could be a zillion reasons why. It seems rather a silly question. |

They always leave because it was crap.
If someone goes on and on how their previous was so great-surely after putting up with their rant it makes sense to ask why they left. |

After putting up with your repeated rants, it makes sense to ask why you have NEVER left.
But I think we've heard all of your excuses. Why not try a new one? |

Is it possible to have this thread NOT be the usual thrifty vs. Cowell tit-for-tat?
I know it is a lot to ask . . . |

Is it possible to have a thread in which "thrifty" does not equate the teaching of English with 'crap'?? |

ted, if you don't want the tit-for-tat, just stop providing the "tit." |

Peaceboat is a charitable organisation - teachers are not paid, although accommodation, board and insurance are covered. |

Most of us have come to the collusion - 'no', and yes, it is very tiresome; but Henry, if you were a trout you'd have been caught, knocked on the head and eaten a long time ago as you seem to rise to the bait all too willingly. |

Thrifty mate, give it a rest - they probably had a six month contract. I have yet to see a single positive or constructive post from you; even your informational ones are all dire warnings of summat or other. I get depressed too, but I try not to wallow in it quite so much.
Besides, you'll only set Henry off on another one too, and with his stamina that is just compounding the problem. |

Having proudly helped drive previous incarnations of "thrifty" ("31," "Mark") insane and off Dave's ESL Cafe, I cherish my role in continuing to provide bait. Light amusement is always welcome in a busy life. What's your excuse? |

To get back to the subject of the original thread, there are no good cruise ship TEFL jobs because that is another TEFL fantasy. |
