BELS- I thought you have your own private school out there. Why would you need to contact Bonne to work for them? I'm confused as to why you'd need them at all if you have your private business???? Wink

Sorry I do understand how you are confused and therefore I have edited it.
But don't think I have a booming busineness at the moment. It's tough building full group classes in a Western region. We need approx 150 students in total, and we might achieve this in September this year hopefully.

But it has taken us three years to achieve this. Most of this has been word of mouth and achievement and not forgetting my wife who is highly qualified.

Muscovites will only pay the big bucks for native speaker teachers though, regardless of how highly qualified a Russian teacher of English is.

As in my reply to your earlier post this is about what I earn but it doesn't sound like much for Moscow say. I've no desire to teach in Moscow but I'm sure you could exect significantly more there. It all depends on where you want to live, you can probably treat European Russia as a separate country compared to Siberia for earnings.

Hello I can understand staying away from Moscow
but do you feel the same about St. Peters. Work is for $, quality of life is what you do with the $ ... here we have no problem reaching the numbers you talk about, but with one difference here you are in Europe, with the pluses and minuses.

Uh... how much do you need to earn in-order to live in the most expensive city on Earth?

You mean London?

In Moscow you can have a beer in an outdoor pub for $2.50, go to a concert for $5-10-15, a football or hockey game for $5, take the metro for $.50, etc.

Can't anyone agree on anything here..I'm seriously considering Russia for next year, along with Japan...but there doesn't seem to be any consensus about the place. Some say...*beep* it, it's sooooooooooo expensive, especially Moscow..others say...nah...Moscow is affordable and I'm saving hundreds of USA a month here...nost say though forget about it...Russia and Japan are the places on my list for next year, either or...and whilst I have the lowdown on Japan more or less..I can't get solid concrete answers on the Mother Country. Moscow is great or shite depending on whom you ask...personally would be most interested in St. Petersburg...it's close to Europe, where most of my friends are, it's big enough, over 4 million, it's pretty and supposedly less dangerous than Moscow...having grown up in NYC I don't want to live in something that is all too similar to it...so basic, basic question: can I live and work in Russia and still save at least 500 USD a month...I almost never go out, don't drink at all and don't smoke, my only real expenses are bobybuilding supplements, which I order from a friend in Germany discounted and of course I would love to learn Russian...if anyone has solid, solid info then pm me or just reply here...cheers to all here...pax vobiscum
