Btw, do you think "non-believers" will go to hell too?
I'm curious as I met some evangelical types and they told me that my Muslim and Jewish friends were going to perish into the dark flames of hell unless they chose to accept the Word. Hmmm... I told them that if I had a choice of going to heaven and being with them [the evangelicals] and going to hell with my friends, then I know which one I'd choose.
Hmm... This thread is becoming sooooooo tiresome. Really, haven't you had enough of all of this? |

| Bunny, If I were willing to apologize for offending you by taking the lords name in vain would you be willing to apologize for invoking his name to justify your bigotry? |

Umm, no. Frankly I don't give two hoots what you think of me. I am not going to mix with people I feel have a different moral code to mine. Period. I don't want to mix with trampy people. Why should I? I don't need to justify myself to anyone, let alone apologise for my beliefs.
I have beautiful, caring friends and family. None of them have tattoos. We all feel the same. I am not a bigot - I just HATE TATTOOS! Get it???
Now honestly, aren't you all bored of this game? Aren't there more interesting posts? And what has all of this got to do with Japan and education? Beats me! |

| I never asked you to change your opinions just to admit that using god to justify them is mistaken. |

Once again you fail to address the point. It's one thing not to like tattoos, its another to judge those who do. I couldn't care less about your asthetic preferences, but are you so thick that you don't realize your own prejudices and so naive not to realize how they affect others? You make the odd and biggoted connection between tattoos and 'moral code' yet fail to explain it and further, expect people to accept that its just a question of esthetics.
"I am not going to mix with people I feel have a different moral code to mine."
"I don't want to mix with trampy people."
"I am not a bigot - I just HATE TATTOOS!"
Give me a break. You are either a bigot or really, really dumb. |

Perhaps you should ponder you're own question.
Why all the vitriol? |

| Oh blimey. Now this person really is the nutter. I am Catholic and not interested in all this evangelical banter. Let Jesus deal with me, you go and look after your tattooed and lower class friends. |
I had a Catholic upbringing and what you call evangelical banter is what we were taught at school. None of it was couched in evangelical language and none of it would be out of place in any mainstream diocese in the Anglophone world today or at anytime since the Second Vatican Council at least.
You have some serious misunderstandings about Catholicism, Evangelical Christianity, the Bible, rationality and written expression in general. You're like a weird counterargument to Pascal's Wager. You should actually forsake belief in God because if there is one, you're going to hell. |

| New York Bunny: religion and tattoos aside, I am offended that you use the name of the good state of New York. You shame this state with all your comments. |

newyorkbunny, we were discussing this before and agreed to disagree but I really wish you would stop saying that people with tattoos are trampy- I'm starting to get offended now because it is totally unnecessary for you to say that.
I had a good upbringing, went to private schools even, (not that that guarantees anything though), and I am not a tramp- my having a tiny tattoo doesn't mean I have loose morals, sleep around, lie or steal, it doesn't mean anything in fact, except in the imaginations of some people.
I respect that you don't want a tattoo and don't like the concept, just like I don't want to dye my hair pink, but I don't make assumptions about the morals of people who dye their hair pink based on just that.
Have your opinion, but try not to insult people- that's basically what's provoked all the backlash you have received. |

Bwahahaha excellent post Jim! You stuck it to NewYorkBimbo right where it hurts. Totally used her own argument and snobbery against her. Good show. |
I support anyone's right to tattoo themselves, but this reads like a post from Big Daikon - childish, rude and utterly unhelpful. |

Many here will argue with the likes of Bunny because they have nothing better to do, like arguing, or really feel strongly about putting her in her place. It's likely a combination of reasons. What scares us about Bunny? She's not the brightest of the bunch, to be sure. I think it's the fact that she may end up in a position of authority some day and use her twisted moral compass to guide her decisions in the workplace. One of us may end up working under her. God forbid she become a senator or hold some other political office. Scary thought, definitely. We all know that anyone can achieve power if they have the right connections and influence. I think Bunny already knows this is what scares people about her. She likes to scare you; likes to offend you. It gives her power. She isn't going away, is she? She's asking others to give it up, but she's not. She likes this.
Even though many of you are making much better arguments than she is, she's winning because she's a troll. Bravo, Bunny! |

Steady on guys. Loser, I think you've just taken the woman more seriously than anybody else in her life ever has. Senator potential for Christ's sake. The truly wonderful part is that when they write newyorkbunny's obit, they'll need to dig up this thread in some internet archive to find her most glorious moment where she was actually considered in the race for high office. But as bathos demands, she'll have been known as newyorkbunny at the time.
I'm not scared of her. I'm not trying to change her mind. I'm not trying to defend the tattooed and lower class from her and her beautiful friends and family either. I'm just having fun. This site might be useful for many things but reasoned intellectual debate isn't one of them. |
