What's the pay? ... contact hours? ... your experience?
I don't think any of the Uni's have a particularly bad reputation for their dealings with staff (??)... and prep programs (?) are all pretty much of a muchness
Nice spot to work, if it's the Halic campus ... it used to be the Tekel factory, so it's almost sacred to some ... |

I wonder if they got that old Tekel factory site cheap and whether it is another con-set up a private uni-get valuable land dirt cheap off the government-run the uni there for a while and then move out to the outskirts and develop the inner city site.
They also have a "campus" in Merter/Zeytinburnu and another near Kumburgaz. |

i believe contact hours were 28 to 30 hours a week, weekdays with weekends off. They said pay would be about 2800 ytl a month ( sounds good), my experience is ive been teaching English for 6 years, in England and Spain ( mostly England), everything sounded great in the interview but 2 things got me concerned. When I asked if i could have a copy of the contract they said they only had a copy in Turkish, i said it didnt matter i could get my fiance to translate it for me, they quickly said oh dont worry i could come in next week and they could translate it for me. Next worry was that I would have to go back to london and apply to the Turkish embassy for a work permit, but i was told i wouldnt have to wait in london for it to arrive but i could come back to turkey and work fot them untill it came, the downside was that as a guarantee that i would stay a while they would only pay me 2000 ytl a month untill my work permit came then pay me back the rest Now i wasnt sure what they actually meant by this and i aim to get it clarified, did they mean they would pay me 2000 ytl and then when my work permit came they would start paying me 2800ytl, or when my work permit came they would give me back pay for the months i was only getting 2000? i know that getting a work permit takes time maybe 6 months or more, so if its the former then that's not so great. |

When are you getting married? If you have a residency permit (an ikamet), you could apply for the work permit here and not have to go back to the UK. |

I know someone who works here. He has been at Kadir for about 4 years. He works in the prep program somewhere near the airport(anywhere after Kumkapı is near the airport for me) Don't quote me but I think he is on 3300 YTL for 4 days a week. |

yeah it was a bit of a hike for the interview, over an hour on 2 busses. But for a decent wage i can live with it. |

Over an hour-what time was the interview? To get there and back for normal working hours it is going to take you well over two hours. My flat is on E5! |
