|

Hello. Just some advice needed. I'm planning on flying from Shanghai to Tokyo (Haneda) and will be in Kawasaki city for 7 days. I know I gotta take the Keikyu bus to Kawasaki station. Just a few things I'd like to ask. When I fly to Haneda airport, are the bus stations right near the exit of the Haneda airport? Also, are the bus signs bilingual in English and Japanese? How much does it cost to use the Keikyu bus? Also, does the Keikyu bus make any stops between Haneda airport and Kawasaki station? Also, are the exits labeled in English? Such as West Exit, East Exit (etc). Thanks for your time.

I've never been to Haneda, but I can tell you that airports in Japan are the best place to find bilingual signs. Don't sweat it. There will probably be people outside the airport helping you find the bus, at least there are some at Kansai.
Are you sure you are not flying into Narita? I thought Haneda was for domestic flights, but I might be wrong. Haneda is the main domestic airport hub for Japan. |

Haneda is very close to Kawasaki. I've never taken the bus from that airport, but it should be easy. I take the train, very easy, even with lots of luggage.
If you're meeting someone in Kawasaki, just remember that there are two train stations. JR Kawasaki is across the street from Keikyu Kawasaki station. You might not see the other station at first, so ask someone. |

Not sure what you can do in Kawasaki for a week... It's not too exciting, and large areas are the most industrialised in Japan, polluted, with loads of factories. I assume you're just staying there (on a conference or with a friend or something), cuz there's not much to "visit" if you're thinking about sightseeing. You'll probably end up visiting Tokyo or Yokohama instead.
As for finding your way, just take the train. It's easy as pie. |

Yes. I'm actually taking a course through www.cie.ca being held in Kawasaki.

How much does the train cost?

Actually when I go to expedia.ca, I can fly either to NRT or HND from Shanghai. HND is just a little more expensive. I just choose HND because it's closer to Kawasaki. |

I did a yahoo search and the train from haneda on Keikyu express to Kawasaki is 400 yen. It takes about 21 minutes between stations. |

I'm not sure exactly what the fare to Kawasaki is but it is definitely a lot cheaper than the bus. From Shinagawa to Haneda by train is 400 yen. Kawasaki is approximately the same distance from Haneda but in the opposite direction, so the fare should be somewhere around that price. |

I heard a while ago that, for political reasons, airlines of mainland China and of Taiwan didn't fly into the same Tokyo airports - one side went to Narita, and the other to Haneda. I was a bit sceptical of this, as I assumed mainland Chinese and Taiwanese airlines must be found at the same airport in many other cities around the world - but maybe there was something in it after all.
Haneda also has flights to Seoul's domestic airport, Kimpo, so dunno if maybe the same thing has started with Shanghai too. |

Don't sweat the transportation. It'll be easy.
Do you know where you'll be staying in Kawasaki? |
