I don't think so. My interview was way back in February and I did the pre-orientation departure training in April. I've been in Japan just over a month now, actually it'll be about 6 weeks.
Have you had your training yet, or still waiting for it to be scheduled? You'll be doing it with Diane and Tomoko I guess. Good luck! |

I had my interview in march. I am due to do the training August 8th. Kinda nervous, I'm still trying to get my head round correspondence pack 1! |

If you need any help with it, let me know via email or something. I have the pack with me in Japan, although I can't get to it till Tuesday, but just let me know. |

awsome thanks
I have spent today trying to make a Kanji for my Hanko (for when i arrive) i don't want the usual katakan スミス (sumisu) so instead I've opted for 鍛冶屋 (kajiya) which i think translates as smith/blacksmith! i am very impressed iwth myself hehe |

Seeing as the original poster is British, I would like to add that your Switch/Maestro card will work in Japanese Post Office cash machines. The same is true for most UK-issued credit cards too. These have got me out of trouble in Japan more times than I care to admit, to be honest!
It is also a good idea to tell your bank that you have gone abroad, by the way - particularly if you owe them money. I didn't notify my bank (HSBC) that I had moved overseas and carried on meeting my financial commitments on time as usual, but they eventually rumbled and locked me out of my online banking in an attempt to make me contact them!! |
