I am wondering if anyone would share their experience if they drove to Costa Rica from the USA or Canada. I was thinking of driving so I could bring a van load of stuff with me. Since I'm interested in teaching English south of Limon (Puerto Viejo) I was also also thinking of driving to Miami and putting my van loaded with stuff on a boat. I have 2 dogs (Golden Retrievers) I want to bring them with me so I thought I could fly us all in from there. Several people have told me that it's easy to drive to Costa Rica these days and others have said "Are you crazy"?!!
Antyone with first hand experience in driving there....I would love to hear from you.

My experience is second-hand - via a Tican friend of my Dad's. Watch out for border crossings especially at both ends of Nicaragua. I've heard stories of having to bribe guards. Maybe since you're Norte Americano, however, you'll have better experieces. |
