Can anyone suggest a tesol certificate course that I could take in Australia that would be recognised in South America? I don't really have time to do CELTA at the moment. |

You may be better off waiting until you get to South America to do a course, since you have no time now (you would have time to do a different course?)
More imprtant- do you have a Uni dgree? If so, in what?
If not, it makes things more difficult.
The place to ask is probably the teacher training forum, not here.
Having said that, I will probably be corrected... |

A CELTA is four weeks, which is kind of the minimum length for a cert to be considered "good" in most places. So if you haven't got time for a CELTA, you haven't got time for anything very good.
I agree with Mr Adventure- do a course somewhere in Latin America, when you have time to do a good one. Doing a fly by night just to have a "certificate" could really come back to haunt you.
Best,

Thanks for the advice, that's probably what I'll do. I'm not planning on leaving for a while anyway until I have some cash saved, so I'll look into the course in Costa Rica once I start preparing to go. Apparently they run it twice a year. |
