Does anyone have any experience of teaching this? If so, can you recommend any materials/coursebooks? |

Hmmm. I thought I knew them all. But I guess not. What does it stand for?
Some possibilities:
International Language of English for Cretins
Illegally Licensed English Course
Incredibly Likeable Edible Creatures.
Intelligible Language for External Communication
Okay, Okay. I couldn't be less helpful, I realize, but I'm trying to be amusing. I like acronyms.

CUP is publishing the first coursebook for this this month, though the teacher's book isn't due out until September
I've downloaded the freebie stuff from www.legalenglishtest.org and it looks like a broad sweep of legal english, mostly general legal. The problem for the guy I'm working with is the format rather than the language - he's not taken Cambridge exams before and the specifics of exam technique are a bit new to him.
For preparation, get hold of a few tomes like Company Law, IP law, or some specimen contracts and go from there... |
