I think Kobe is a nice city. Maybe live on the outskirts, away from the bridges and tall buildings.

Rather hilly though but going on the theory that lightning doesn't strike twice maybe you'd be safe from major earthquakes.

Well looks like Kobe is the only decent place in Japan. Hmm? I thought somewhere on Shikoku might be nice.
