Can anyone recommend a doctor in HK? I'm living in Shenzhen and I need at the very least a Hepatitis A shot. I'd also like to get a physical to make sure I'm healthy enough to continue living in China.
Thanks for any help. |

the big practices ofQuality Healthcare group of doctors are okay. they are more expensive than just a stand alone doctor but they will be able to do any blood tests or other tests that you need and give you injections (alot of the smaller doc's don't do stuff like that). if you are just seeing a GP you don't need an appointment but if you want to see a specialist you need a referral and appoinment.
two places i know of are in prince's building in central and hang lung plaza/centre (???not too sure about that) in causeway bay. |

Kwong Wah Hospital - operator telephone: 2332-2311
The operator will give you telephone numbers of Government Doctors/Clinics/hospitals in your area if you ask her nicely and clearly (there are some under the HA = Hospital Authority; and the DH (forget what that stands for!)
Here is another hospital number - 2607-6111 |

Thanks for all your help. I went to Quality Healthcare at Prince's Building today.
For those interested, a standard physical is HK$800 and a Hepatitis A shot is $530.
There goes a chunk of my vacation money. But I think it was important enough. |

Yes, unfortunately HK doctors don't take into consideration mainland wages! I'm sure it will be worth it in the long run. But some mainland doctors are OK. Others light up a smoke or scratch their goolies while consulting with you. Not that there's anything wrong with that. |
