Yes, Roger, I am THE Minister of Disinformation. I said that I thought there was no such creature - myself never being an illegal employee/backpacker before.
I did find info. on the L-2 Visa (multiple re-entry L Visa) since:

The L-2 visa is for dependents of intracompany transfers (L), and is valid for one entry within three months. Applicants wishing to receive a multiple-entry L-2 visa valid for 24 months must pay an additional fee of USD $120 or RMB 996.

But I certainly don't think this is voodikon's case.
Thank you very much.

I am having an identical problem.
My contract states my term of employment is between September 1, 2006 and July 31, 2007. However, both my FEC and my RPF expire on July 4, 2007. If this year is any indication of when next year's summer break starts, I will have to leave China right after I've given my final exams, or have someone conduct the exams for me. I know the RPF's expiry date is supposed to match that of the FEC's, and because the FEC was processed on July 4 this year, July 4 2007 marks a full 365 days. I would love to complain about this but I think the FAO assistant would just tell me that if it hadn't been for the fact that my last RPF expired on Thursday, my FEC and my RPF would probably expire on July 31, 2007.
So I guess my only option is to ask the FAO assistant to get me a 30-day tourist visa next June? |
