Anyone have an info on teaching in Tokyo? Being a non Asian person I'm not too keen on imersing myself in a Japanese culture; however the pictures and films I've seen of Tokyo show it to be an exciting metropolis like NewYork city. Anyone have any info on schools, salary, demand for teachers?

Well, first of all, you need to decide whether you want to live in Japan, Poland or the Caribbean...

Second, the Tokyo you see in the movies is nowhere near reality. (E.g. It's been many years since Godzilla's last attack and they've almost rebuilt everything by now)...

Third, if you don't want to be immersed in Japanese language and culture, you really don't want to come here. That includes Tokyo.

Fourth, please read the Stickies at the top of the forum, and when you're done with those, use the "Search" function to answer in outstanding questions you may still have. Then, failing that, go ahead and ask what you need.

It really helps to lurk for a while to get a feel for the culture in an online forum. Your questions are very general and vague, and have been answered countless times. We have a very helpful bunch here, and I'm sure you can find what you're looking for.

Good luck.

JD

There are many schools in and around Tokyo. There is a demand for teachers in and around Tokyo.

If you're not keen on immersing your self in ANY foreign culture, why would you consider moving to that country? Curious...
