Today I received an unsolicited Academic Director job offer from Qualitas Consulting & Training Co. K.S.C.C. I was curious so I checked out Dave's ESL Cafe to do a little research and was floored by the reaction to this company. I've been in the ESL game long enough to recognize Qualitas is an English mill, but I was curious none-the-less. I've never been to the Middle East.
However, I believe some English mills are a great way to immerse yourself in a job and culture, especially if you are new to teaching. I worked in a hogwan (institution) in South Korea for two years before acquiring more credentials and moving on to better positons within that country and beyond. Sometimes the lifestyle outside of the school can compensate for the hard work done in school. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem life outside work balanced out the original poster's tortured workday. Best of luck to you in finding something more suitable, and thank you for your post. You confirmed what I thought. Thanks.

I'm glad I read this because I just got a recruitment letter from the MOD. Asking for a 2.5 year contract, yeah right... |
