just take all your money out. it will close itself after a few years of inactivity. no need to worry. |

I closed an account with Citibank Japan from overseas by phoning their customer service team in Japan. They sent me a form to officially close the account, plus a form to specify the bank account where I wanted the remaining balance deposited to overseas. It was pretty straightforward. |

Thanks but Citibank I think is a little different than a normal Japanese bank. Some may ask why I don't just tranfer the money home but I closed my account at home and I am expecting money to be deposited in my bank here a few weeks after I leave. That is why I was checking to find out what other people's experiences were. I appreciate your advice. |
