So what about brushing your teeth with the local water in China? Do you used bottled water to brush your teeth? |

Brush with tap water. Just try not to swallow too much. You'll be fine. |

Hi
I bought a water filter cost about 10 dollars and was worth every penny must have filtered and drank enough water to float a battleship. Can't see the point in bothering with the tablets WHY do you people live in these places ? Do you love rubbing shoulders with the great unwashed and their rather dubious forms of sanitation ? |

Hey Richard
For one thing, if you are travelling filters can be difficult to carry with you. Tablets are convenient and not likely to get stolen by someone who thinks your pump is something they can flog easily to another traveller.
Also, they do not get rid of amoebae. Not even tablets will do that. Apparently (and this comes from my mother who worked for the government Public Health Laboratory as a senior Lab Tech in London for years), only boiling for ten minutes will ensure the demise of those over friendly single celled nightmares.
Of course feel free to disagree but then you'll have to deal with my mother and believe me amoebic dyssentery may be preferable |
