I have been trying my damnest to try to get legally employed in Poland; more specifically around Krakow and it seems I roll snake eyes every which way. I am decently qualified (BA, TEFL, 2yrs exp) and even know a minimal amount of Polish. I have sent pretty CV (references, photo, cover letter) yet to no end. Any suggestions short of going and meeting individually with the DOS (a bit of a problem considering current locale) or should I just throw in the towel. Thanks in advance.

How many applications have you sent? One suggestion is you could try another part of poland. Krakow is not the only beautiful part of the country.

Your 'current location' is listed as Krakow. Are you actually somewhere else? If you've listed Krakow because it's your goal to live/work there, and you're sending CVs from abroad, it's no wonder you're not getting any bites. It is actually pretty impossible to land anything (even an interview) from abroad in most of Europe.
If you're in Krakow, then, yes, I would hand-deliver my CVs and ask for an interview.
Also, you could be sure that your CV is short and to the point. Many times they are just too long for overworked, non-native speaking DOS to read through.
Obviously, it's also not the hiring season. All of Europe is preparing to head out for August holidays....and jobs begin again in September.

If you're sending them NOW, you probably won't get any 'bites' until August at least. Summer time is dead.

Khrystene is right. Most schools don't know yet what they need for the new semester, and in Krak�w where there are many teachers, schools haev the luxury of not having to worry too far ahead.

And it's the holiday season.

If you make sure you're CV has reached schools, and contact them nearer the time, things should seem a bit more positive.
