Can anyone tell me how much I should be paying for National Health Insurance?
Last year my boss charged me NT$1500 per month. This year she is charging me NT$1000 per month?????

cathy,

from my understanding, you shouldnt be paying much more than $10CDN/$300NT/mth for your National Health Plan Coverage... Shocked

you may want to look into this further as you're looking at almost 3.5 times more than you should...hope this helps

Health Insureance costs depend on several things - usually the impotant ones are how much you are making and what percantage is being payed by your employer. Try to get all the details to make sure you are satisfied.

The cost of your insurance also depends on age and gender. Women of an age to give birth pay more.

I used to get charged under $200NT now I have heard of some teachers paying over $2,000 NT/mo,

not sure what the actual law is though

Dear Readers,

The fee for national health insurance is based on your salary. If the school reports a teacher's full salary (which may be over 60K per month), then a fee of about $2000 NT could be expected.

Most schools under-report everyone's salary, so the health insurance fees are usually below $1000. Also, the school should pay a certain percentage, but you know some Taiwanese bosses.......... Cool
