My girlfriend has a job at UNISTMO in Ixtepec and I am heading to Colima, a helluva long way apart! Well, shes worried and Im worried about her safety in Ixtepec. She's traveled extensively and has lived abroad in France and Korea(not that korea even has a hint of danger) but neither of these places has the reputation of Mexico.

Has anyone lived in Ixtepec? How are the small Oaxacan towns for safety. Shes going to stick out like the preverbial sore thumb with her red hair and white skin.

If anyone, especially girls, can give her, and I, any information on Ixtepec then we would be very appreciative! Thanks alot!

Ixtepec is a sleepy little rural town. She shouldn't be worried about safety, but boredom. Seriously, it's a quiet town. She doesn't have much to worry about.
