The most blatant example of this is a British guy. I will just call him “Warren Whitless” (Any association with any real person by this name is completely unintended.)
Warren came here in 1993, but he didn’t finish his contract because he got canned for talking down to his students. Shortly thereafter, he started his own school. He is now married to a Polish woman with a young daughter, AND HE STILL CAN’T SPEAK THE LANGUAGE! (This is probably a good thing for him, because if he could speak the language in public, his social skills are such that some Pole might be inclined to “enlighten” him regarding proper manners…)

The funny thing is that the Polish school owner, who canned his dupa years ago, now translates for him.

Is that a hoot, or what?

Crogo is talking about me here. (My name is Warren Whitmore).

I know a fair amount about him, as Christopher Rogalski (Crogo) sent me his CV a few months back, but I don't imagine he knows much about me as we have never met.

I wouldn't say that I spoke Polish well, but I seem able to get by.

As regards the other information, it is true that I'm married to a Polish woman with a young daughter, the rest is garbage.

I didn't come to Poland in 1993, I have never failed to complete any contract, and I don't employ my former school owner to translate for me.

Kymro, the person described, I had no idea it was you. Perhaps I would have done better to add the word "SOUNDS" before the slagging off. So I apologise if it offended you.

As for my opinion on foriegners who come and are pains in the arse, that still sticks.

No worries, it's a hard language.

People learn languages out of necessity and the reality is that in Poland being fluent in Polish is less and less of a necessity.

I suppose others learn languages to show off, but that's never been my thing. I am learning Chinese because I study Kung fu.

Just to clear up one small point, I do speak Polish, (every day), and don't have anyone translate for me.

Now I'm not saying I speak it well, but I do speak it, (at least enough to be understood).

Not everyone I know speaks English.

What's the point in getting personal about Warren? If you have a problem with him then don't bring it onto a public Internet forum. The school he owns has a good reputation amongst students and teachers.

Similar situations have been witnessed in Opole Rynek this time thanks to native speakers and not tourists, thank god the world cup is almost over and that England went out. It's just not like it used to be in the good ol'days! These types make me sick.
