Hey gang. Do any of you order your contacts online? I recently got a disposable prescription and was hoping somebody on here might know of a cheap place to order from. Thanks.

Hey, I'm about to do that within the next couple of weeks myself. Since my doctor works for Walmart I can order my lenses through Walmart.com. I'd try 1800contacts.com and see if that helps you. I'm sure they can mail them to Japan if you are there too. Good luck.

One thing to be careful of is that most places (online or not) in the USA will only sell you contacts if you've had an eye exam in the last year. However, you can order as many pairs of contacts as you want within that year. So if you plan on being in Japan 2 years, for example, and you don't want to go through the hassle of getting another eye exam, order 2 years worth of contacts within one year of getting your initial exam.

Why not just buy them here, Costco sells them and most opticians, too.
After you pay the shipping I doubt you are saving anything.

I have a working agreement with my optician in Canada... Due to the fact that I have a relationship with him (having been a loyal customer for over 10 years)... I just send him an e-mail and he hooks me up.

I'm not in Japan, yet. Figured this would be a good place to get some insight on the matter. Smile

In that case, maybe we can compare prices. How much do you have to pay for a pack of Acuvue ll brand contact lenses from Johnson & Johnson? They are 2-week disposable lenses and run about $60.00 here.
They used to be incredibly expensive here back in the day and I used to get them shipped for $50.00 from the States and still make out, but the prices have come way down.

I don't know. My script is for the Accue Vue Oasys, wich runs 169 USD for a year's supply (they are also 2 week disposable). This is my first time getting disposable lenses. Can I use a different type so long as the
-x.yz number is the same? How does that work? To me, 169 appears to be a little high.

Good question, though. I'd like to see what everybody else pays.

I think with tax yours are just a tad cheaper.
As for the brand, as long as the prescriptions match, no worries.
