Why do foreign guys mostly date ugly Japanese girls?
A) They're only ugly by Japanese standards, not so much by Western/foreign.

Hey y'all. Another poll on dating in Japan from me and my wife. (Note: I'm American, she's Japanese.) My wife thinks most Japanese girls who date foreign guys are ugly, and the remaining few are just plain. I have a slightly more positive opinion, but I have to admit that the girls foreign guys date here are often below the national average.

So what's the deal? Cast your vote and give us your take on it!

E) It's the best they can get.

BTW this phenomena is not limited to Japan, same thing happens in Thailand

I vote E as well. And also add that the simply don't know any better, or it's the only girl who speaks English well. I know guys who have literally dated the first girl they met off the plane (because she was the one sent to pick them up because she was eigo jouzu). Foriegn guys come here not understanding the dating scene and finesse their way into dating the more shy inaccesable girls, so of course get nabbed by aggressive getting on in years women. Sure there are exceptions, but you'll also notice most white guys in Japan date women older than they are. Not a coincidence. Those are the ones that are left over.

I hope that's not true of me... I'm getting on in years (staying single-wise), so I'd hate to get someone "left over" who is even older than me. I can only imagine what kind of (perceived) damaged goods she must be to still be single at that age.

Remember though, a lot of the women here look younger than they really are, and act much younger until after you have married them Razz !
