I have been here for a month already (grant you its not exactly peak hiring time) and haven't received any feedback or replies to my resumes. I have sent out my resume to every single private english school in Portugal. If I don't hear from anyone soon I believe that I will be leaving because money is running low LOL~.
Goodluck if your still interested in coming here!

Guys, it's not just "not the peak hiring time" - it's the absolute bottom end of the hiring time! Everyone's getting ready to head out on August holidays. Hang in there, try again at the first of September (if you can).

IH seem to be hiring out there, if you fancy a McSchool job.

I've been here for a year and a half now.

Portugal is lastminuet.com, so you won't get -many- repsonses to your CVs until October or quite often until afterwards when some people quit and the schools get desperate.

October is hiring time, pound that pavement.

Some schools I'd suggest if you're really stuck for cash are Linguagest and, if you can survive on their pay, Wall Street.

I work for a big school who pay well and need a degree and celta course. Lots of schools don't.

IH often take you on part-time for a year until you "prove yourself" and then might offer you a full time contract.

Cambridge school, for those who have degrees and CELTAs, is possibly the best bet. Good money, good teachers.

If you can get work as a private tutor you're set to go. Don't charge less than 25 eur an hour.

Ok, stupid question, but what exactly is a 'McSchool'?
I'm working for IH at the moment, and it's the best deal I've had so far, but I'm wondering if perhaps there's better yet?
