Hi,
I am planning on traveling through Vietnam (mostly near Ho Chi Minh City) this summer. Just wondered if any of the locals could tell me about English language entertainment magazines or newspapers you read.
I am hoping to pick up a few as I enjoy reading the independent (sometimes free) newspapers wherever I go. If you read them, where can I pick up a copy?
Thanks. |

Inside Out is written by people who seem intent on turning HCMC into another identikit hip westernised metropolis, rather than trying to preserve its few remaining unique characteristics. That said, it is a good source of bar/restaurant listings, but is published too rarely to give up-to-date info on films, gigs etc.
VN News may be written in English, but has little of interest to the expat reader (apart from Calvin & Hobbes). |

Unforunately, That's all there is at the moment. There isn't really enough going on to justify an infotainment type magazine but yes, take a look at InsideOut. |
