It is indeed fascinating to learn absolutely everything about the full and varied life you would appear to be leading.

Out of interest Paul, why do you feel the need to share this information with the world?! Not necessarily a criticism, merely a question.

Oh, and you leave/put things aside or to one side, but not to aside. Feel free to get defensive and suggest 'taking a holiday' as you wittily quipped to another previously, but it's just a comment. One can't be precious about language criticism if one hopes to be a good teacher. Take care, good luck.....

I guess I should also say something relevant to the thread. Yes, Polish girls are 'hot'. But, they are often bound either
(a) as has been previously mentioned, by a princess mentality which stems from cultural (and largely religious values, the two being particularly strongly intertwined in Poland) traditions and norms or
(b) a desire to rebel specifically against this (whether conscious or not) as certain social norms become nothing but empty forms devoid of content. Hence the married women and long-termers who, as recently observed, (!) are quite happy to sleep with other people casually or.....(certainly not a trait perticular to Polish women...!).

Both these are, to say the least, not the best. Someone on this thread mentioned a way of dealing with it- to 'play the role' and see how far it gets you. Agreed...it may well work. But would anyone want it to, regardless of how 'hot' someone might be? Play a role to be in a relationship? Patently absurd!!! It's also fairly obvious that, if playing the role comes from the fact that being like that (deferential to women, traditionally chivalrous etc) is alien to you due to differing values regarding relationships and gender roles, it's totally counter-productive because it just serves to strengthen and propogate those ways of relating to each other.... bez sensu i tyle....

Oh, and they age badly. Anyone noticed that?!

take it easy all...summer's here

No hijacking.

In my experience although I've found Polish women to be beautiful I don't think they are really all that different from the women we have back at home.

They have their faults too. For example, I find American and British women are always trying to compete with their men and aren't very supportive of their men either.

Let's us not kid ourselves, money is a big cause for divorce back in our countries.

That being said, just as in our home countries, there are a few gems out there.

Yet along with what eslman said, I think you're better off being a little skeptical when you meet someone for the first time.

My rule is simple if their actions don't match their words, I'm moving on.

With over 6.5 billion people in the world why waste your time with someone if you're not having a good time?

(Alright Paul. I don't like it when threads are hijacked but you did bring up a good point about Americans asking questions.

Quote:
1 American kept asking weird and stupid questions , yet, has a BA???!!!

That's a cultural difference, because in the US education system we are encouraged to ask lots of questions.

I know because when I've studied Polish and now Chinese I always annoyed my teachers with constant questions, although they were always new and valid questions, it didn't take long to realize that outside the States a lot of teachers get annoyed if their students ask lots of questions.)

In Poland, I'd agree, they do. But then the education system is F**ked.

As for me, I've also always been encouraged to ask a lot of questions, and I also encourage my students to do so. Though fighting with YEARS of indoctrination NOT TO ask questions can be tough. I have managed to get to a few! They are awfully curious about Australia though. Smile

Other Europeans tend to ask a lot of questions, particularly about Politics, History, etc. In my experience.

I was immature..........but now that I am in Poland and slowly maturing.............

By the way what are Polish girls like? I'm having trouble with one girl especially. I ask simple questions and get the answer *maybe* and she just grins.

Does get annoying after a while. Sad

pffft - any answer than "yes" to "meet you at 11?" means no. Still, we all spent time giving you career advice that you threw in our faces - I dont think Im going to waste time on your attempts at a love life too.
