I'd like to know what sort of things I should study for the Interac grammar test? Any help you can offer me would be very helpful!
I did a search and couldn't find any information so if an old thread exists please be kind and don't get upset.
No tolls in this thread, please!

The SATs used to have a section called "Test of Standard Written English". Maybe it still does. At any rate, I spent hours preparing for that test such that I got close to a perfect score. The preparation required reviewing many grammar rules and then practicing with multiple choice questions.
Years later, when I took Interac's "grammar test", I found it to be no problem at all. You can never go wrong by preparing for a similar test. Try going to a public library and checking out some of the old prep guides to the SATs. |

Don't worry too much about it. If you have recieved an English education and graduated from college with a 4-year degree, you should have no problem.
By the way, I know I mispelled atleast one word on the test (don't ask me which one ;P), and I still got the job. Good luck. |

and to answer your question, I believe this timed-test included:
-spelling
-grammar
-punctuation
No pressure. |

i think all threads are free. Anyway, Interac's test should be easy. The main question is not "are you good enough for them?" but "Are they good enough for you?" |

I work for Interac and at no time has religion come up.
Also, the test isn't painfully hard like the one ECC gives. Interac wants to make sure you understand English and can put together a sentence in some sort of coherent way. It isn't meant to be impossible to all except for high level English PhD, like the test ECC puts you through (Which as a side not I'm happy to say I passed.) |

Now this made me laugh...
I actually had a phone interview with Interac last year before coming back to Japan, and I was a bit amazed at the pre-contract hoops I was expected to jump through - for such a lousy contract; relatively low pay, no help with rent or key money, no help with flight over. And they expected me to do all sorts of testing, attend a costly weekend session in the nearest city (entirely at my own expense, I might add, not even a token lunch thrown in).
And in fact, the issue of religion did come up in my phone interview with the rep, and I wasn't the one to raise it.
Enough said. |

When Interac contacted me there was no mention of religion at all. If it weren't for this forum, I wouldn't even know there was any religious affiliation. I would bet that if you ask current Interac employees, as opposed to people who don't like the company and have never worked for them, that they would tell you that religion does not enter the equation. |
