If i bring a video from the US will it work in Turkey?

Is Turkey PAL or NTSC format?

and isnt it really only decided by the VCR itself?

or have they done away with that nonsense? I would think that all VCRs are now capable of supporting both formats.

And does it matter for DVD'S as well?

thank you for your help

Turkey used the pal system for videos. but when I brought my Pal video over from the UK I had to get it adjusted so that it would work with turkish tv's. I then bought a multi system and had no problem.
The biggest problem is that you can't find new films on video cassette these days nor VHS videos!! They have pretty much gone the way of the Dodo. So only bring your VHS if you have films to play on it. There are some shops selling 2nd hand video cassettes but not much selection or dubbed into turkish.
If you have a DVD or VCD it's better You can Buy DVD'S everywhere and there are black market DVD & VCD movie sellers that sell films really cheap (copies of course!...naughty..naughty!)

PM me for more details...also about your cat...if you need any info.
