Someone else who is moving to Ist asked me about cat supply availability in Ist. (wow, cat supply availability. ?!) Meaning food, kumu, etc.

Anyway, as I am moving there and this person is as well, can someone recommend a good vet? I'll be in Bebek for a couple of weeks before i get my own place....not that it matters - I'll travel the city to go to a good vet.

By good, I mean someone who didnt get their license at Gima. It takes a long time to find a decent doctor...and if one of you has already done the legwork i will buy you a Guiness. Laughing

But those of you who have pets (Yaramaz), you know what it's like to think you are gambling with your animal's welfare when you go to the doctor's.

I found a place called Bogazici on Google, in Levent. Looks very professional. (at least the website does)

I hope this post is understandable. Its very late and I am confused to begin with.

I'll just stop now.

My vet is lovely- he is actually a travelling vet who calls round my local pet supply shop/kedi pansyon every evening at 6pm on his scooter... I supose he must go to other locations as well. He has been great with my cat. I can give you his number when I get back to Istanbul if you want.

also, in kadikoy fish street you can buy bulk dry cat food for a decent price... and kumu is available in most supermarkets and pet supply shops.

Not sure if its the same place, but 'Bogazici Hayvan Hastane' in Levent is well known and has been around for many years. I'm not sure what its like, but I'm sure it cost a bit....

There are three vets I know of in Cihangir. They have all the things any cat or dog would want.
