I have been looking into TEFL schools in Costa Rica for quite some time. SIT TESOL from what I have read from this sight seems to be a quality program. I have also looked at TEFL International and World TEFL School. My question is does anyone have any knowledge about the last two schools I mentioned? Both are in Manuel Anotonio, seem to have quality accreditation, and are about the same price. Thanks and I hope to be in Costa Rica before November.

I don't personally have experience with either, however.... there are so many mixed views on TEFL international. Search through the teacher training forum. I know there have been some heated debates over there.
With that said, I have heard NOTHING but good things about the SIT program. I'd go with that one if I were you. |

if you do a search for "El Invu" you will find comments from people who have taken the course there; i emailed a number of those people [about 6] about the course about 3-4 months ago, and they all gave glowing reports
cheers,

JohnMARS, I'm attending the Aug. 27th course too! Did you know only 8 ppl will be in the course this time? I spoke with Ms. Mary on the phone yesterday and she told me. Should be some quality teacher-student time! Are you bringing anything from home to use in teaching? Like props or anything? |

I attended the course in November 2004, and it was a wonderful experience. I think the perk is that it's located in a small quiet town where you have time to study, and the serenity of nature around you. The instructors were also great, and it's through a repudible (spelling) school. I believe the other school in Costa Rica is not affiliated with any professional program. My opinion. |
