Arthur Lee, lead singer of the 1960s Psychedelic band, Love, died of lukemia last night.

Anyway, I know this has little to do with teaching, but Love were a very influential band, and the album "Forever Changes" is truely a work of art.
I don't know if any of you guys are fans or not, but I thought I'd let you know because it's unlikely that this story will get coverage in the Turkish press.

Arthur Lee, RIP you crazy *beep*

I was listening to "Trout Mask Replica" at the weekend while I was cooking curry. Great album to cook to, but not so good for gap fill exercises for pre-int students.

When our new textbooks arrive from Bangladesh I will let you have one for your pre-int students. I can assure you there are lots of gap fills. You won't be forced to pay for the book like our students.

Don't worry each sentence in our gap fills bears absolutely no relation to the others in our gap fills. Each one bounces from topic to topic like a pin ball machine. Turkish students as you know love gap fills and believe mastering them to be the pinnacle of language learning success. And the customer is paying royally for our books and is getting royally treated in return.
