This may sound like a stupid question, but I live in Tokyo and will be travelling to Kyushu for a few days and I am wondering if I will be able to use my cell phone down there. More specifically, will I be able to call a cell phone in the Tokyo area without having to pay long distance charges? |

another quick question...
I will be calling in sick to my place of work one of the days in Kyushu so I'm wondering if it will show up as long distance if I call from my cell phone. |

I shouldn't think you'll have a problem.
When you call anyone be they within Japan or overseas, the same number appears. It's just the country code and the cell phone number.
As for using it in Kyushu. Provided your provider has coverage down there, it should be no problem. |

thanks for the reply. I have Vodafone, so I would assume they would have coverage in Kyushu. |
