|

In South China after contract is up and we must renew visa.... I don't want to make a dreary border run to Hong Kong. I would prefer to use this time for an exotic vacation to tropical island. Without much money to spend, you know a cheap paradise to spend a month or two months vacation? Have you been to these places? Can you compare price / quality? I like tropical beaches and coral reefs!
Phuket: Since Tsunami, is Phuket rebuilding so we could get good hotel deals? Elsewhere in Thailand?
Phenom Penh, or elsewhere in Cambodia?
Cebu, or elsewhere in Philippines?
American Guam? American Saipan?
Palau? Yap? Indonesia? Malaysia?
I think Australia, New Zealand, Tahiti, Fiji, are too far away to be cheap airfare. You know anywhere else? |

you have a good point...
Instead of just hopping to HK for a new visa try going to Singapore or somewhere exotic - make sure there is a Chinese embassy of course - and have some fun for 2-3-4 days before going back to work.
Even more fun if you can get your employer to cover some or all of the costs. |

Southern Thailand might be a good choice, lots of cheap places along the beach. There is a Chinese Consulate in Songkhla. |
