Hi,
My name is Sam and I'm heading down to Chile in early-mid September with a close friend to hopefully find jobs teaching ESL. I've been collecting the necessary information concerning my temporary residency visa, but I never received my police background check, (probably because there are no felonies/misdemeanors on it, from which the state of Indiana could conceivably extract money, but whatever) and, as a result, I'm not going to be able to get my visa processed in time.
So two questions arise in lieu of this circumstance: 1) If I take all my my necessary temporary residency information (health forms, police report [assuming I ever receive it], application, et al) down to Chile with me, will this help speed the process along, so I can find a job without having to submit to the 90-day Argentinian border-hopping loophole, and if so, where might I go to complete the process? The American Embassy, maybe? 2) Is there an actual starting date for the semester, or a deadline of arrival that I absolutely must meet to ensure that I can land a job in September/October? If not, I'd just assume stick around longer and get my visa here, even though I'm dying to leave the Midwest.
Any advice you can send would be highly appreciated. This is my first post on here, so sorry if this message seemes a bit long-winded or overwrought.
Yours,
